Ceuta
Ceuta is geographically located in the North of Africa, only about 32 km distance from Spain, at the opposite side of the Strait of Gibraltar. One of the main European gates to Africa, a place where the Mediterranean sea and the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the presence of two continents, come together to develop a city with a unique personality, where the Christian, Jewish, Muslims and Hindus communities coexist harmoniously.
The Mediterranean Sea is the ideal point to start from, in order to understand its cultural, historical and natural singularities. Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans were well aware the importance of having the strait of Gibraltar under their control for commercial purposes. Christian and Islamists did also take profit of Ceuta’s location for trading. All this civilizations left their mark in the city and the mix gave Ceuta a special touch.
Ceuta is the perfect place to spend your holidays or a day break. A place where you would be able to relax on the beach, enjoy the gastronomy and live the night at Poblado Marinero. Its proximity to Moroccan cities as Tetuan or Tangier makes the destination really interesting, thanks to the chance to visit two countries in one day.
In addition to its natural beauty, Ceuta is also the perfect place for shopping. European and international firms are available at incredible prices, thanks to a special tax regime.
Definitely, a very different Spanish destination!
