Roses
Roses is an essential Mediterranean town and an emerging cruise port, with notable tourist and seafaring traditions. It is located between two nature reserves and the Mediterranean in a unique natural setting at the North of the Costa Brava, less than 30 kilometres from the French border, 65 kilometres from Girona and 160 kilometres from Barcelona.
Roses Bay is also listed by UNESCO as one of the “most beautiful bays in the world”
Roses is well known for its cuisine, from traditional to creative fare based on fresh fish. The main host, Ferran Adria, is considered one of the best chefs in the world and was proprietor of “El Bulli”,the famous restaurant awarded with 3 Michelin Stars which unfortunately is no longer open to the public.
Nowadays, Roses also offers the possibility to follow the historical line from prehistoric times to the present day, among its Greek, Roman and Medieval remains, dating from the 8th century BC.
One of the strong points of this port and one of its must-see attractions for visitors includes the work of the genius Salvador Dalí, the inventor of Spanish surrealism. His work can be found Portlligat house, near Cadaqués, as well as his Teatro Museo in Figueres or Gala’s Castle, in Púbol.
We invite you to find your way around a town full of delights and new sensations, awaiting your discovery, as did the earliest settlers did over 3,000 years ago!
